Uncoated wood free paper is coated with various chemicals or even polymer to impart certain qualities in paper for enhancing printing quality by improving weight, surface gloss, smoothness, reduced ink absorbency and longer life. Various kinds of coating material are used such as Kaolinite (also known as china clay), calcium carbonate, bentonite together with calendaring for creating high end printing substrate for magazines and advertising materials.

One Side coated paper (Label paper)

As the name suggests 1 Side coated paper (label paper) is clay coated or cast coated paper on one side and the other side remains uncoated enabling it to be coated with pressure sensitive or suitable self adhesives designed according to the substrates. Main application is self-adhesive labels.

Most common gsm are 50- 100gsm
