Coated paper
Uncoated wood free paper is coated with various chemicals or even polymer to impart certain qualities in paper for enhancing printing quality by improving weight, surface gloss, smoothness, reduced ink absorbency and longer life. Various kinds of coating material are used such as Kaolinite (also known as china clay), calcium carbonate, bentonite together with calendaring for creating high end printing substrate for magazines and advertising materials.
Most common gsm are 80- 120gsm
Mostly available in reel( also on sheets on request)
LWC (Low weight coated paper)
Lightweight coated paper or LWC in short is made from mechanical pulp and coated on both side with clay or kaolin. LWC papers are typically used for heat-set web offset and rotogravure printing of magazines, brochures and catalogues.
Most common gsm are 50 – 80 gsm
