PAPER GARBAGE BAGS

We offer “ OPEN SYSTEM” paper bag for food waste disposal which is already very popular in Scandinavian countries especially in Sweden where it was first introduced way back in late 1997 and TODAY almost 22 years later it has achieved dominant position with collected mass of 135 kg per (HH) household (median) in 32 municipalities in Sweden ** as compared to waste packed in plastic bags (120 kg per HH).
The open system is based on “ specialised moisture resistant” Kraft paper bags and “ Ventilation”. It provides an aerobic digestion of food waste as against “ Anaerobic degradation “ that occurs in a closed system (closed bin)
This means that the waste dries out instead of stagnation resulting in decay or putrefaction of food waste causing foul odour.
In an open system since the waste dries out by evaporating the moisture present inside the waste it mitigates the odour AND THIS IS POSSIBLE ONLY WHEN THE BAGS ARE PRODUCED WITH SPECIALISED PAPER which has the unique ability to absorb and remove moisture through ventilation.
The optimal system will have a bin that is ventilated both in body and in lid and is also equipped with a raised bottom grille ( This has not been finalised as yet and is still in design stage) made with either recycled plastics or even wood pulp …

Description

PAPER GARBAGE BAGS

Collection and disposal of food and household waste has been a contentious issue ever since man became civilised. Plastic bags to carry the waste to disposal site further added fuel to the fire… as quantum of plastics on earth will not deplete with passing years and it will keep on piling up with every ton of plastic produced and converted into plastic bags for waste disposal.
Plastic is NOT from renewable source, nor is it bio – degradable nor it is compostable and cannot be recycled once dumped in landfill site together with household and food waste.
NET result: Plastic garbage bag adds to the problem and does not offer a solution hence must be substituted with an alternative.
